Challenge

The Allegheny Conference on Community Development is the sole organization committed to improving the Pittsburgh region’s economic future and quality of life. Bringing together public and private sector leaders across Pittsburgh, the Conference works to define and communicate a regional vision, build partnerships and mobilize action to advance a shared vision for the future. 

With a Salesforce instance that was first implemented in 2017, the Allegheny Conference on Community Development was beginning to experience gaps in usage and functionality of the platform. The Conference sought to improve user adoption of the platform, leverage the latest technologies to optimize processes, and gain insights through data analysis that were not previously accessible. To address these needs, the organization issued an RFP to find a partner who could audit and assess their current Salesforce instance, focusing on four key areas: platform adoption, technology optimization, process efficiency, and advanced data analytics. 

Solution

Thanks to its comprehensive RFP response and demonstrated understanding of how Salesforce could impact the organization both in the short and long term, TruSummit Solutions was selected by the Conference to conduct the audit and assessment. The 6-week audit, which encompassed seven key stakeholder groups within ACCD, evaluated the organization’s existing technology and business processes with a focus on identifying pain points and uncovering opportunities for improvement. 

The audit led to a set of high-impact recommendations, with TruSummit proposing a phased approach to optimize the Conference’s instance. This approach aimed to fulfill the organization’s original goals while maximizing Salesforce’s potential. 

Outcomes

The ultimate goal of TruSummit’s recommended five-phased approach to optimization was to enable the Conference to increase the size of its membership base, deepen relationships with its members via more personalized interactions, and enabling the Conference to make data-driven decisions across all departments.
