Challenge
Pittsburgh Paints Company is a major manufacturer of interior and exterior paints, stains, caulks, adhesives, and sealants for homeowners and professionals. The company sells through its own paint stores, distributors, and retailers.
Following its separation from PPG, Pittsburgh Paints Company needed an independent CRM foundation. Legacy SAP CRM capabilities had to be replaced with a platform that could support Sales, Service, and Marketing, along with retail stores, distributors, and field sales operations. Key challenges included:
- Replacing legacy SAP CRM capabilities with an independent CRM foundation
- Supporting Sales, Service, Marketing, retail stores, distributors, and field sales on one platform
- Multi-layered systems, including SAP, master data, and employee systems, that all had to stay connected
- Security and access requirements that differed from team to team
- More than 2,000 users to prepare for adoption
Solution
TruSummit Solutions led the migration from SAP CRM to Salesforce, starting with eight weeks of discovery and design before moving into the implementation build. The team deployed Salesforce across Sales, Service, Marketing, and Retail Execution:
- Sales: Accounts, territories, leads, and retail visits, with Consumer Goods Cloud Retail Execution, visit and action plan templates, and a custom experience for the sales team.
- Service: Cases for customer service, technical advice, and product quality; Zoom Contact Center; post-visit summaries and written warranty documents; and a root cause analysis process.
- Marketing: Campaigns, email, forms, and preference management on Marketing Cloud Next, with Data 360 segmentation, welcome series journeys, and targeted audiences.
- Data and integrations: Data migration and an enterprise integration architecture, built primarily on Azure Integration Services and SAP BTP, connecting Salesforce with SAP ECC, HR and territory systems, master data, Zoom, Salesforce Maps, a sales prospecting data service, a document generation tool, and the website’s marketing forms and paint swatch orders.
- Security and access: A model that brings together Enterprise Territory Management, Consumer Goods Cloud retail groups, roles, and sharing.
- Adoption: User training, change management, testing, and go-live readiness.
